UF Health is opening a brand-new Freestanding Emergency Department in Jacksonville’s Intracoastal area and seeks experienced ED RNs to join from the start. The RN provides care using nursing processes and maintains accountability for assigned patients in a dynamic ED setting.

Requirements include an Associate's degree in nursing, Florida RN license, BLS, ACLS, PALS, and 1 year of ED RN experience; BSN within 3 years of hire is preferred. Florida licensure is mandatory.

The Registered Nurse (RN) provides nursing care to patients utilizing the nursing process and standards of practice for a professional nurse. The RN is expected to perform all staff nurse activities and function as charge nurse when assigned. The RN maintains overall accountability/responsibility for assigned patients, even though some activities/tasks may be delegated to Technical Nurses, Patient Care Associates, and/or Sitters. Assignments are performed appropriately to age and developmental level of patients being served.

Qualifications

Required Education:

• Associates in nursing
• BSN within 3 years of hire

Preferred Education:

• BSN

Required Licensure/Certifications:

• Florida State RN license
• BLS
• ACLS
• PALS

Preferred Licensure/Certifications:

• Professional certification

Required Experience:

• 1 year of ED RN experience
