Job summary

UF Health is opening a brand-new Freestanding Emergency Department in Jacksonville’s Intercoastal area, and we’re looking for experienced ED RNs to join the team and help shape the culture from day one.

The RN provides nursing care using the nursing process and standards, performs staff nurse duties, and may serve as charge nurse when assigned; accountability remains with the nurse responsible for patients.

Qualifications

• Associates in nursing required.
• BSN within 3 years of hire required.
• Florida State RN license, BLS, ACLS, and PALS required.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care using the nursing process and standards of practice.
• Perform staff nurse activities and act as charge nurse when assigned.
• Maintain accountability for assigned patients across age groups.

The Registered Nurse (RN) provides nursing care to patients utilizing the nursing process and standards of practice for a professional nurse. The RN is expected to perform all staff nurse activities and function as charge nurse when assigned. The RN maintains overall accountability/responsibility for assigned patients, even though some activities/tasks may be delegated to Technical Nurses, Patient Care Associates, and/or Sitters. Assignments are performed appropriately to age and developmental level of patients being served.

Required Education:

• Associates in nursing
• BSN within 3 years of hire

Preferred Education:

• BSN

Required Licensure/Certifications:

• Florida State RN license
• BLS
