Job summary

UF Health in St. Augustine, FL is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for a PRN, night shift position. The RN provides patient-centered care, using the nursing process to support positive health outcomes and education.

Responsibilities include coordinating care with the interdisciplinary team, performing assessments, administering medications, wound care, IV infusions, and patient education. Must hold ADN, FL RN license, and BLS; PICC certification preferred.

• Performs physical examinations, health histories, nursing assessments, and routine observations.
• Delivers direct patient care including medications, wound care, injections, IV infusions, and other treatments.
• Operates standard critical care equipment safely.
• Responds to life-threatening emergencies with appropriate interventions.
• Documents assessments, procedures, and patient responses to treatment.
• Updates care plans based on patient condition and response.
• Educates patients and families on health conditions, medications, and follow-up care.
• Adheres to OSHA guidelines and established safety/quality practices.
• Performs additional duties as assigned.

The Registered Nurse (RN) provides and manages individualized, patient-centered care focused on promoting and restoring health. Using the nursing process, the RN delivers direct patient care while supporting positive health outcomes and patient education.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinates care with the interdisciplinary treatment team throughout assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation.


• Performs physical examinations, health histories, nursing assessments, and routine patient observations.


• Provides direct patient care, including medication administration, wound care, injections, IV infusions, and other treatment interventions.


• Safely operates standard critical care equipment.


• Recognizes and responds appropriately to life-threatening emergencies, including administering emergency medications and using defibrillation or other emergency treatments.


• Documents assessments, procedures, care provided, patient conditions, and responses to treatment.


• Updates individualized plans of care based on changes in patient condition and treatment response.


• Provides patient and family education regarding health conditions, medications, wellness, and follow-up care.


• Adheres to OSHA guidelines, safety standards, and established quality-control practices.


• Performs other duties as assigned by the department.
