Job summary

UF Health in Saint Augustine, FL seeks a PRN RN to provide patient-centered care. You will perform assessments, administer medications, and coordinate with the care team to promote health outcomes. The role requires ADN, Florida RN license, and BLS certification; PICC certification is preferred. Days shift with 0.1 FTE.

Ideal candidates will be able to respond to emergencies, operate standard critical care equipment, and educate patients and families on health conditions and follow-up care.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree in Nursing (ADN) required.
• Current Florida Registered Nurse license.
• BLS certification required; PICC certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates care with interdisciplinary treatment team during assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
• Performs physical examinations, health histories, nursing assessments, and routine patient observations.
• Provides direct patient care including medication administration, wound care, injections, IV infusions, and other interventions.
• Safely operates standard critical care equipment.
• Recognizes and responds to life-threatening emergencies, including emergency medications and defibrillation when needed.
• Documents assessments, procedures, care provided, patient conditions and responses to treatment.
• Updates care plans based on changes in patient condition and treatment response.
• Educates patients and families about health conditions, medications, wellness, and follow-up care.
• Adheres to OSHA guidelines, safety standards, and established quality-control practices.

The Registered Nurse (RN) provides and manages individualized, patient-centered care focused on promoting and restoring health. Using the nursing process, the RN delivers direct patient care while supporting positive health outcomes and patient education.
