UF Health in Jacksonville, FL is seeking a part-time Registered Nurse (0.6 FTE) to provide comprehensive nursing care. The RN will use the nursing process and adhere to professional standards, stepping in as charge nurse when assigned and ensuring accountability for each patient across ages.

Qualified candidates will have an Associate’s Degree in Nursing, Florida RN licensure or eligibility, and BLS certification on day one; BSN is preferred with ongoing certification requirements such as ACLS

Overview

Shift: Days

The Registered Nurse (RN) provides nursing care to patients utilizing the nursing process and standards of practice for a professional nurse. The RN is expected to perform all staff nurse activities and function as charge nurse when assigned. The RN maintains overall accountability/responsibility for assigned patients, even though some activities/tasks may be delegated to Technical Nurses, Patient Care Associates, and/or Sitters. Assignments are performed appropriately to age and developmental level of patients being served.

• Associate’s Degree required
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• New hires effective June 14, 2017, must obtain a BSN from an accredited school of nursing within three (3) years of hire or transfer
• New hires or transfers between August 1, 2013, and June 13, 2017, must follow the requirements outlined in their offer letter and job description
• Employees hired or transferred prior to August 1, 2013, are grandfathered
• BSN preferred

• Fellowship RNs: ACLS, PALS and NRP within 6 months when required by the department
• Psych Unit: Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) training within 90 days and annually thereafter
• Professional certification preferred

Experience

• Less than one year of related experience required
• One (1) year of clinical experience preferred
