Job summary

UF Health in Jacksonville, FL is seeking a Registered Nurse for part-time night shifts. The RN will provide comprehensive patient care using the nursing process, with supervision as a charge nurse when assigned, and will adapt care to the age and developmental level of patients.

This role requires an Associate’s degree, Florida RN license, BLS on start, ACLS/PALS within specified timelines, and ongoing certification; BSN preferred and encouraged within three years of hire.

Qualifications

• Associate degree required; BSN must be obtained within three years of hire for applicable new hires
• Florida RN license or eligibility upon SSN
• BLS from American Heart Association or American Red Cross required on first day of employment
• ACLS – Required at Hire or Transfer for specified units
• ACLS – Required Within 6 Months for listed units
• PALS – Required Within 6 Months for listed units
• Experience: Less than one year required; 1 year preferred

Shift: Nights

The Registered Nurse (RN) provides nursing care to patients utilizing the nursing process and standards of practice for a professional nurse. The RN is expected to perform all staff nurse activities and function as charge nurse when assigned. The RN maintains overall accountability/responsibility for assigned patients, even though some activities/tasks may be delegated to Technical Nurses, Patient Care Associates, and/or Sitters. Assignments are performed appropriately to age and developmental level of patients being served.

Education

• Associate’s Degree required
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• BSN must be obtained from an accredited school of nursing within three (3) years of hire or transfer for applicable new hires
• Employees hired/transferred between August 1, 2013, and June 13, 2017, follow the requirements outlined in their offer letter/job description
• Employees hired/transferred prior to August 1, 2013, are grandfathered
• BSN preferred
