UF Health in Jacksonville, FL is seeking a Registered Nurse to deliver patient care using the nursing process and professional standards. The RN will serve as a staff nurse and, when assigned, act as charge nurse, maintaining accountability for the care of all assigned patients.

This full-time night shift role requires an ASN/ADN, Florida RN license or eligibility, and BLS on day one; ACLS and PALS must be completed within specified timelines.

The Registered Nurse (RN) provides nursing care to patients utilizing the nursing process and standards of practice for a professional nurse. The RN is expected to perform all staff nurse activities and function as charge nurse when assigned. The RN maintains overall accountability/responsibility for assigned patients, even though some activities/tasks may be delegated to Technical Nurses, Patient Care Associates, and/or Sitters. Assignments are performed appropriately to age and developmental level of patients being served.

Minimum Qualifications

Education

• Associate’s Degree required
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• BSN must be obtained from an accredited school of nursing within three (3) years of hire or transfer for applicable new hires
• Employees hired/transferred between August 1, 2013, and June 13, 2017, follow the requirements outlined in their offer letter/job description
• Employees hired/transferred prior to August 1, 2013, are grandfathered
• BSN preferred

• Florida RN license or confirmation of eligibility for licensure upon receipt of SSN

• Fellowship RNs: ACLS, PALS and NRP within 6 months when required by the department
• Psych Unit: CPI training within 90 days and annually thereafter
• Professional certification preferred

Experience

• Less than one year of related experience required
• One (1) year of clinical experience preferred
