Job summary

Tidewell Hospice, part of Empath Health in Florida, offers a 12-month Nurse Residency for recent RN graduates. The program includes a 3:1 resident/clinical coach ratio, weekly classroom education, and exam fees covered. Work schedule is 40 hours weekly across 3x12 shifts with clinical education each week.

Upon completion, you become a Certified Hospice Nurse. A $5,000 sign-on bonus is available, with benefits and growth opportunities within Empath Health’s Full Life Care system.

Qualifications

• Recent grads welcome to apply; residency targets RN grads with under 1 year of experience.
• ASN or BSN degree from an accredited program is required.
• Current Florida RN license or multi-state compact license is required.
• CPR certification from ARC or AHA is required.
• Preference for hospice or ALF experience.
• Must have valid driver's license and transportation.
• Medical clearance and up-to-date immunizations required before direct contact.

Responsibilities

• Participate in a 12-month Nurse Residency program with a Clinical Coach.
• Schedule: 40 hours per week; typical 3x12 hour shifts and weekly education sessions.
• Rotations across hospice teams, Home, ALF, and Admissions service lines.
• Become Certified Hospice Nurse after completing the program.

Tidewell Hospice, a part of Empath Health is seeking a caring and motivated Recent Grad RN to join our 12-month Nurse Residency program! Do you feel called to a rewarding career as a Hospice Nurse?

What you’ll Do

• We offer a 3:1 Nurse Resident / Clinical Coach ratio!
• Weekly classroom education pertaining to the care of hospice patients & families will prepare the Nurse Resident to become a Certified Hospice Nurse after completion of the program. Exam fees are covered by Empath Health.
• Schedule: 40 hours per week. Typically, 3x12 hour shifts in the Hospice House and 4 hours of clinical education per week.
• Six months of practical experience facilitated by a Hospice Clinical Coach/Preceptor in a hospice house setting.
• Scheduled rotations with other hospice teams as well as theHome, ALF, and Admissions service lines.
• No Medical/surgical experience necessary
• The Nurse Resident joins his or her new team in the seventh month with continued individualized orientation as needed.

What You’ll Need

• ASN or BSN degree from an accredited program required.
• Current Florida RN License or multi-state compact license required.
• Valid CPR certification from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association.
• Prefers clinical experience with hospice or ALF patients.
• Must have a valid driver’s license, proof of insurance, and have means of transportation.
• Must have medical clearance for communicable diseases and up-to-date immunizations before having direct participant contact.
