Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing; BSN preferred.
• Current license to practice professional nursing in Texas by residency start.
• Current Basic Life Support Certification.
• Residency is open to new graduate nurses or experienced RNs with less than one year experience.
• Related work experience and other skills: knowledge of hospital policies, procedures, and nursing care standards; ability to handle confidential material.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to hospital standards and promotes a cooperative work environment.
• Assumes responsibility for nursing components of patient/family education.
• Communicates with team, patients, and family; ensures accurate documentation.
• Provides nursing care, medication and IV administration using the nursing process.
• Dedicates to professional growth and development; performs other duties as assigned.
