Graduate from an accredited school of nursing; Texas license by start of residency; Basic Life Support; residency open to new grads or RNs with less than one year of experience; commitment to the Nurse Resident Program and classes

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing; BSN preferred
• Current license to practice professional nursing in the state of Texas by the beginning of the residency required
• Current Basic Life Support Certification
• Residency is open to new graduate nurses or experienced RNs with less than one year experience
• Additional Certification as required by Department

Responsibilities

• Adheres to hospital standards to promote a cooperative work environment.
• Provides nursing care using the nursing process with patients and families.
• Directs and supervises other team members and collaborates with multidisciplinary team.
• Maintains clear, complete, and timely written communication of patient information.
• Ensures safe, accurate medication and IV administration and a therapeutic environment.
