Job summary

The GEO Group seeks an experienced Registered Nurse to provide high-level nursing care to inmates within a secure facility. You will work alongside an LPN, perform assessments, administer medications, and help ensure safe, compliant healthcare delivery in a correctional setting.

Requirements include an RN license in the state of Arizona and 2 years of RN experience. A valid AZ driver's license is preferred, with opportunities for comprehensive benefits and competitive compensation.

Qualifications

• Excellent diagnostic skills, patience and natural empathy.
• Two years of direct RN experience preferred.
• Must have current, unrestricted RN license in the state of assignment.
• Ability to work without direct supervision and provide appropriate follow-through treatment.
• Proficient in basic computer use and healthcare software.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care within your capacity and refer other medical problems to the physician.
• Perform comprehensive physical assessment and medical history.
• Periodically evaluate patients' symptoms and progress, reporting to Physician/management.
• Securely administer medication, prevent hoarding/trafficking.
• Ensure prescribed medications are given as instructed.
• Provide patient education for chronic illnesses and post-surgical care.
• Supervise LPN staff and support performance evaluations.
• Document detainee/inmate contacts and maintain confidentiality of medical records.
• Follow industry and company accreditation policies.
