Job summary
The Battle Creek VA Medical Center in Michigan is seeking a Nurse Recruiter to lead recruitment and retention efforts for nursing staff. You will work under Acute Hospital Clinical Service to identify highly qualified talent aligned with the mission of caring for Veterans and to improve onboarding processes.
Responsibilities include guiding recruitment strategy, collaborating with facility leadership and HR, and applying nursing knowledge to select best qualified candidates.
Qualifications
- Graduate of a school of professional nursing approved by accreditation bodies.
- Active nursing license in a US state or territory.
- ACEN or CCNE accreditation preferred; bridge program may qualify for MSN pathway.
Responsibilities
- Lead complex recruitment and retention of nursing staff using the nursing process.
- Collaborate with facility leadership, HR, and external stakeholders to build candidate pipelines.
- Screen candidates to ensure alignment with job requirements and organizational values.
- Mentor/teach staff to improve recruitment outcomes and onboarding processes.
- Promote ethical recruitment practices and equity in hiring.
