Job summary

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, VA seeks a Nursing Professional Development Generalist for the Burn Trauma Intermediate - Medical/Surgical Unit. You will lead staff education, facilitate orientation and practice transitions, and validate competency to advance nurses from novice to competent practitioners.

You’ll contribute to quality and patient safety outcomes, support system improvement projects, and collaborate across units in a Magnet-certified, tertiary care setting.

Qualifications

BSN or MSN degree required/preferred.
RN license required.
BLS certification within 90 days of hire.
2 years nursing experience, 1 year nursing leadership experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement staff education for designated populations.
Serve as learning facilitator for orientation, practice transitions and continuing education.
Provide foundational education competency/skills validation to progress nurses from novice to competent.
Accountable for staff development and professional development to improve quality and patient outcomes.
Support system and hospital performance improvement and evidence-based practice projects.
