Job summary

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, VA is hiring a Registered Nurse for the Burn Trauma Intermediate Care – Medical/Surgical Unit. This 34-bed unit supports neurosurgery, trauma, burns, and orthopedic trauma with a 3:4 nurse-to-patient ratio on IMC and 5–6 on medical/surgical beds.

Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in Registered Nursing (required).
• BLS required within 90 days of hire.
• New Grad RNs are welcome to apply; transition to practice.
• Comprehensive residency program (6 months) to support practice.

Responsibilities

• Provide competent nursing care per the nursing process and standards of practice.
• Collaborate with Burn Trauma IMCU/Medical-Surgical teams to coordinate care.
• Monitor patient status and respond to changes in condition.
• Educate patients and families and promote health within the unit.
