Job summary

Houston Methodist is seeking a Nurse Practitioner (ACLS) to function as a licensed clinician providing diagnosis, treatment and consultation across inpatient and outpatient settings. The NP will work within the Nurse Practice Act of Texas, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to promote patient health and education on treatments.

The role emphasizes compassionate communication, independent judgment within scope, and ongoing professional development as part of a tertiary care team.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Nursing required; graduate from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
• Two years of RN/NP clinical experience.
• Licensure and certifications: Texas RN license (board certification), non-acute care license, ANCC NP certification, BLS, ACLS, Prescriptive Authority, and DEA license within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive patient care including diagnosis, treatment and consultation.
• Coordinate patient care with physicians and interprofessional team in inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Educate patients about preventative care and prescribed treatments.
• Serve as a clinical resource and educator for staff and learners.
