Job summary

Houston Methodist seeks a Nurse Practitioner (ACLS) to provide diagnosis, treatment and consultation, in inpatient and outpatient settings. The NP operates under Texas Nurse Practice Act and acts within a treatment team, educating patients on preventive care and prescribed therapies.

Required are an ACLS certification, strong English communication, and ability to work with physicians, staff and families. This role is exempt and involves varied essential functions across departments.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or higher from an accredited school of Nursing and graduate from an accredited Nurse Practitioners program.
• Two years of registered nurse, advanced practice or nurse practitioner clinical experience.

Responsibilities

• Provides leadership as a clinical resource and patient advocate.
• Coordinates patient care with the interprofessional team and attends rounds.
• Promotes teamwork and communication across staff and departments.
• Coaches staff and serves as preceptor for NP students and residents.
• Ensures patient safety through adherence to protocols and continuous improvement.
