Job summary

Desert Regional Medical Center, part of Tenet Healthcare, is seeking a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner to manage NICU patients under physician and nursing leadership. The role emphasizes leadership, efficient time management, and role modeling in a high-acuity environment.

The candidate should have an NP certification, 5+ years clinical experience, and active BLS/NRP credentials to support critical neonatal care in a rotating shift setting.

Qualifications

• Must hold Nurse Practitioner Certification.
• Current RN license in California is noted in the ad, verification at time of hire.
• AHA BLS Certification must be maintained.
• NRP certification required.
• Minimum of 5 years clinical experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead NICU patient care under Medical Director and Nursing Director supervision.
• Demonstrate effective time management and resource utilization.
• Serve as a leadership presence in the department.

GENERAL DUTIES

The NICU Neonatal Nurse Practitioner manages patients in the NICU under the direction and indirection supervision of the Medical Director and/or his designees and the Nursing Director according to the established nursing standardized procedures. This role is a leadership position in the department and the individual is responsible for effective time management, resource utilization, and demonstration of positive role modeling.

Qualifications

Required

• Will consider experience as a Physician Assistant
• Current California RN license
• Nurse Practitioner Certification
• Current American Heart Association BLS Certification (maintain current at all times)
• Certification as Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
• Minimum of 5 years clinical experience
