We are currently seeking a dedicated Locum Nurse Practitioner (NP) specializing in Neonatology . In this role, you will play a crucial part in providing high-quality care to newborns in need of specialized medical attention. Your expertise will be instrumental in supporting the neonatal team and ensuring the well‑being of our tiniest patients. Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of newborns in the neonatal unit.
- Develop and implement care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team.
- Perform procedures such as intubations, lumbar punctures, and umbilical line placements.
- Monitor and manage ventilator support for premature infants.
- Educate parents on neonatal care techniques and post-discharge instructions.
- Participate in daily rounds and communicate patient updates to the medical team.
- Assist in emergency situations requiring immediate intervention.
- Document patient information accurately and maintain medical records.
Requirements:
- Valid Nurse Practitioner (NP) license in the state of practice.
- Certification in Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP).
- Previous experience working in a neonatal intensive care unit (NICU).
- Strong knowledge of neonatal assessment, diagnosis, and treatment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced and high‑pressure environment.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Flexibility to work varying shifts as needed.
Schedule: 12 or 24‑hour shifts, specific dates
No call shifts
Level III NICU
Patient Volume: 6 per shift
Must be board‑certified
