Job summary

The Advanced Practice Provider works under a supervising physician within a defined scope of practice across multiple specialties.

Roles include comprehensive patient evaluations, diagnostic testing, therapy recommendations, and collaborative care planning with physicians.

Qualifications

• RN licensure in Texas (or compact) and Texas APRN.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire.
• Certification from an accredited board as an APRN for the patient population focus required.

Responsibilities

• Assesses physical and mental condition of patients via comprehensive or problem-focused exams and histories.
• Orders, collects, interprets, and evaluates lab and other diagnostic tests.
• Prescribes or recommends medical therapies and procedures.
• Formulates and implements treatment plans with physicians and team.
• Counsels patients and families on processes, medications, nutrition, and health promotion.
• Maintains records of treatment plans and outcomes; initiates referrals when needed.
• Provides consultation and manages patients in settings beyond primary clinic.
