Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Health is seeking a Nurse Practitioner for outpatient specialty clinics in Texas. The role involves direct patient care, prescriptive authority, and independent provider billing.

The Advanced Practice Provider works under a supervising physician across multiple specialties, including nephrology and other areas as needed. Typical duties include comprehensive exams, labs and diagnostics, medication management, and care coordination with the treating team.

Qualifications

• Education - Grad of an Accredited Program
• Experience - Less than 1 Year of Experience
• Current license to practice as a Nurse Practitioner in the state of Texas

Responsibilities

• Assesses the physical and mental condition of patients by performing comprehensive exams and medical histories.
• Orders, collects, interprets, and evaluates laboratory and other diagnostic tests.
• Prescribes or recommends medical therapies and other treatments, focusing on safety and cost.
• Develops and implements patient treatment plans with physicians and teams.
• Counsels patients and families on medical processes, medications, nutrition and health promotion.
• Maintains records of treatment plans and outcomes; initiates referrals as needed.
• Provides consultation for conditions related to the provider's specialty.
• Performs procedures within scope of practice as delegated by supervising physician.
