Job summary

Rochester Regional Health is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to provide medical care in the Medical Short Stay Unit at Rochester General Hospital. The role supports collaboration with physicians and care teams, handling a typical load of 6–10 patients per shift.

Rotating 12-hour shifts, two weekends per month, and no on-call requirements offer predictable scheduling while maintaining high standards of patient care and documentation in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• MS in Nursing is required.
• Nurse Practitioner Certification (NYS) and RN license.
• Eligibility to practice in New York with valid certifications.

Responsibilities

• Provide care for an average of 6-10 patients per shift in the Medical Short Stay Unit.
• Interact with patients, families, and care teams to ensure satisfaction.
• Prescribe drugs, devices and immunizing agents per policy and practice agreement.
• Collaborate with healthcare team on therapeutic measures.
