Job summary

Rochester Regional Health is seeking a Registered Nurse I for the Medical Short-Stay Unit at Rochester General Hospital. This 36-hour per week daytime role focuses on high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced, 38-bed unit with telemetry and collaborative care.

You will perform patient assessments, develop care plans, document care, and participate in research activities while adhering to BLS requirements and NYS RN licensure.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Associate’s Degree in Nursing
• Registered Nurse license in New York State
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Responsibilities

• Provides high-quality, patient-centered clinical care.
• Performs initial and ongoing assessment of the patient, utilizing appropriate data.
• Communicates and documents assessment of patient with the interdisciplinary team.
• Develops and documents plan of care, treatment and services which is individualized and appropriate for patient needs.
• Complies with organizational policies, procedures and protocols including safety, medication administration and documentation.
• Revises plan of care based on ongoing evaluations and updates documentation appropriately.
• Completes at least one CRU form for submission to Nursing Research Department using a recent US-based article.
