Job summary

DC Health seeks a Nurse Practitioner to serve in school health and wellness centers across DC high schools. The role includes holistic assessment, care coordination, and emergency response within a multidisciplinary team.

Required DC RN and APN licensure with ANCC certification, CPR/AED, and at least one year of professional nursing experience. English/Spanish fluency preferred; driver’s license may be required.

Qualifications

• At least one year of professional nursing experience equivalent to the next lower grade level.
• CPR/AED certification required.
• Current DC RN and Advanced Practice Nurse licenses; national ANCC certification.
• Driver’s license may be required.

Responsibilities

• Obtain health and developmental histories; document findings and care plans.
• Provide or coordinate preventive and acute care within SHWCs in DC high schools.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of nurses, physicians, and support staff.
• Conduct and document assessments, administer treatment, and coordinate referrals as needed.
• Support teaching and training for other health care workers and participate in program evaluation.
