Job summary

MedStar Health’s Washington Hospital Center seeks a Nurse Practitioner to lead clinical management for occupational health patients in collaboration with physicians. You will document care in OH records, coordinate with providers, and help implement wellness programs to improve employee health.

The role requires an NP license in DC or Maryland, a nursing degree with ANA NP program, and CPR certification within 90 days. Experience in occupational health is preferred and teamwork is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing and completion of an ANA accredited Nurse Practitioner Program.
• DC or Maryland NP licensure required; board eligibility/registration with DC or Maryland Board of Nursing.
• CPR certification (AHA/Red Cross) within 90 days; various unit/specialty certifications may vary by department.

Responsibilities

• Assumes full clinical management of patients in collaboration with a physician.
• Documents data into OH medical records and other databases; timely data entry per standards.
• Collaborates with OH providers and outside physicians to monitor case management outcomes and referrals.
• Develops and implements wellness programs to improve associate health and work-life balance.
• Evaluates fitness for duty and arranges referrals to physicians or therapists as needed.
• Assesses and manages return-to-work plans and transitional duty for injured associates.
• Performs pre-placement medical clearances and administers vaccines and testing per policy.
• Requisitions and interprets labs and X-rays; counsels on findings and follow-up.
