Job description

Greensboro Radiology is a highly subspecialized private practice group in central North Carolina, seeking a NP/PA to work within the department.

The Greensboro Radiology mission is to lead radiology excellence through personalized and compassionate care. We have demonstrated this commitment to quality and patient care through the development of a strong APP section that works hands on with our patients to ensure continuity of care.

POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Primary role is to be physician extender/substitute for minor procedures.
  • Assist in the performance of direct patient care services, including inpatient consults and inpatient rounding.
  • Schedule patients for procedures including pre-authorizations, working with other facilities to coordinate procedures as needed, processing processing orders, sending reports back to referring doctors.
  • Perform physical examinations, determine medical histories, diagnose, and treat illnesses and/or injuries.
  • Order and interpret laboratory and radiographic studies.
  • Perform or assist with Fluoro procedures such as: paracentesis and thoracentesis.
  • Perform image guided IV access.
  • Develop and implement patient management plans and record progress notes.
  • Perform history and physical examinations of radiology patients.
  • Field phone calls from patients, referring physicians, nurses, and other health care professionals regarding patients to identify potential areas of concern in the medical management of the patients.
  • Educate patients on their medical care.
  • Other duties as assigned.

DESIRED PROFESSIONAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Must be a graduate of a program that qualifies the graduate to sit for the certification examination of a national certifying organization recognized by the NC Board of Nursing
  • Current NP/PA license and certificate of authority to practice as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner in the State of North Carolina required.
  • Board certified by The National Commission of Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA), The American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) or the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC)
  • BLS AND ACLS certification required.
