Job summary

Community Health Network in Central Indiana is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to join its urgent care team. You will assess, diagnose, and treat patients of all ages, manage acute conditions, and work with physicians as needed.

This per diem NP role requires a Master's in Nursing, NP certification, and experience in urgent care or emergency medicine, with ability to perform minor procedures and interpret basic tests.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of full-time experience as NP/PA in Urgent Care or Emergency Medicine.
• Experience treating both pediatric and adult patient populations.
• Comfortable performing minor procedures including suturing, casting and splinting.
• Proficient in preliminary reads of EKGs and X-rays.
• Master's degree in Nursing.
• National NP certification (AANP or ANCC).

• Order and interpret diagnostic tests and imaging.
• Diagnose conditions and prescribe treatments or medications.
• Perform minor procedures including suturing, splinting, and casting.
• Document patient encounters and treatment plans in the EMR.

• Work scheduled shifts of 4, 8, or 12 hours as assigned.
• Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.

About the Role

As a Nurse Practitioner (NP) , you will provide a broad range of clinical services to patients of all ages. You'll treat acute episodic conditions such as sore throats, colds, flu-like symptoms, cuts, sprains, and minor infections. You'll work independently or alongside a physician, using your clinical expertise to assess, diagnose, and treat patients, while recognizing when to elevate care to emergency services.

• Diagnose conditions and prescribe appropriate treatments or medications
• Perform minor procedures including suturing, splinting, and casting
• Document patient encounters and treatment plans in the EMR

• Administer vaccinations and refer patients to specialists as needed
• Work scheduled shifts of 4, 8, or 12 hours as assigned
• Perform other duties as assigned by leadership

Minimum Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of full-time experience as a licensed NP or PA in an Urgent Care or Emergency Medicine setting (required)
• Experience treating both pediatric and adult patient populations (required)
• Comfortable performing minor procedures including suturing, casting, and splinting (required)
• Proficient in preliminary reads of EKGs and X-rays (required)
• Master's degree in Nursing (required)
• National certification as a Nurse Practitioner ( AANP or ANCC ) (required)
