Job summary

Children's Specialty Group (CSG) and CHKD in Norfolk, Virginia seek a full-time Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join the Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics team.

You will work with an interdisciplinary group, including a pediatrician, NPs, psychologists, and educators, and participate in NICU follow-up and autism clinics in the region.

Qualifications

• Current license as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, Family Nurse Practitioner, or Physician Assistant (per state requirements).
• Developmental pediatric experience preferred.
• BLS certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with physicians using evidence-based protocols to develop individualized plans of care.
• Manage developmental/behavioral disorders (ADHD, Autism, Behavior Disorders, Learning Disabilities, Intellectual Disabilities) with supervising physician.
• Participate in health screening programs for infants, children, and adolescents to identify at-risk developmental problems.
• Engage in academic activities and access educational opportunities within the institution.

Education

Pediatric NP/Family NP/PA license

Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant - Developmental Pediatrics

Children’s Specialty Group (CSG) and Children’s Hospital of The King’s Daughters (CHKD) is seeking a full-time Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to work in the Department of Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics. You will join our interdisciplinary team of developmental pediatrician, nurse practitioners, psychologists, social workers, educational consultants, and other support staff. In addition to an interdisciplinary NICU follow up clinic and an autism spectrum disorder clinic, our division coordinates services across Hampton Roads as one of five regional Child Development Centers supported by the Virginia Department of Health.

Responsibilities

• In collaboration with the physician, utilize evidence-based protocols to develop an individualized plan of care.
• Appropriately manage specific developmental and behavioral disorders including, but not limited to, ADHD, Autism, Behavior Disorders, Learning Disabilities, Intellectual Disabilities, and medically complex children with developmental delays in collaboration with supervising physician.
• Participates in the development and implementation of health screening program for infants, children, and adolescents for identification of at risk developmental behavioral problems.

Education, Experience and Training

• Current license as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, Family Nurse Practitioner, or Physician Assistant
• Developmental Pediatric experience preferred.
