Job summary

Children’s Specialty Group (CSG) and CHKD seek a full-time Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join the Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics team. The role supports an NICU follow-up clinic and autism clinic, collaborating with a diverse group of professionals in a regional Child Development Center system.

The successful candidate will hold an active Pediatric NP, FNP, or PA license, with developmental pediatrics experience preferred, and BLS certification.

Qualifications

  • Current license as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, Family Nurse Practitioner, or Physician Assistant.
  • Developmental Pediatric experience preferred.
  • Current BLS.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the physician to develop individualized care plans using evidence-based protocols.
  • Manage developmental/behavioral disorders including ADHD, autism, behavioral disorders, learning and intellectual disabilities, and medically complex children in collaboration with supervising physician.
  • Participate in health screening programs for infants, children, and adolescents to identify at-risk developmental-behavioral problems.
  • Engage in academic activities and access educational opportunities within the academic institution.

Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant - Developmental Pediatrics

Children’s Specialty Group (CSG) and Children’s Hospital of The King’s Daughters (CHKD) is seeking a full-time Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to work in the Department of Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics. You will join our interdisciplinary team of developmental pediatrician, nurse practitioners, psychologists, social workers, educational consultants, and other support staff. In addition to an interdisciplinary NICU follow up clinic and an autism spectrum disorder clinic, our division coordinates services across Hampton Roads as one of five regional Child Development Centers supported by the Virginia Department of Health.

Responsibilities
  • In collaboration with the physician, utilize evidence-based protocols to develop an individualized plan of care.
  • Appropriately manage specific developmental and behavioral disorders including, but not limited to, ADHD, Autism, Behavior Disorders, Learning Disabilities, Intellectual Disabilities, and medically complex children with developmental delays in collaboration with supervising physician.
  • Participates in the development and implementation of health screening program for infants, children, and adolescents for identification of at risk developmental behavioral problems.
  • As part of an academic institution, engage in academic activities and have access to outstanding educational opportunities.
Education, Experience and Training
  • Current license as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, Family Nurse Practitioner, or Physician Assistant
  • Developmental Pediatric experience preferred.
  • Current BLS
