Job summary

Penn Medicine's Heart Group of Lancaster General Health is seeking a full-time General Cardiology Nurse Practitioner to join a busy team of physicians and NPs. The NP will participate in inpatient rounds, see outpatients in the office, and contribute to a collaborative, autonomous cardiology program in a high-volume environment.

Qualifications

• Valid CRNP license and Certificate of Prescriptive Authority in Pennsylvania.
• Valid Pennsylvania licensure as a Registered Nurse.
• ANCC or equivalent certification in Adult/ Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner.
• Minimum one year experience as a Nurse Practitioner preferred.

Responsibilities

• R rounds on inpatient service and see outpatients in the office setting.
• Assist in rounds, consults, and discharges with a high degree of autonomy.
• Follow up with recently discharged patients to ensure treatment plan progress.
• Occasional travel to a satellite office may be required.

Position Description:

The Heart Group of Lancaster General Health is seeking a full-time General Cardiology Nurse Practitioner to join their Team. As part of a highly productive cardiology group consisting of 30 physicians and 28 nurse practitioners, our General Cardiology nurse practitioner team rounds on the inpatient service and sees outpatients in the office setting.

Occasional travel to a satellite office may be required.

Our nurse practitioners enjoy collaborative practice with a high degree of autonomy. NPs play an important role assisting in rounds, consults, and discharges at the hospital. NPs also see our newly discharged patients in early follow up to ensure that our patients are progressing with their treatment plan. By using our team-based approach to cardiology care, we have enjoyed a historic low in readmission rates.

Hours: This position is full-time, primarily dayshift hours. The usual staffing shift is four 10-hour shifts per week. One weekend a quarter rotation either day or night shift. Requires occasional evenings or nights.

Position Requirements:

Nurse Practitioner

• Valid Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner license and Certificate of Prescriptive Authority in Pennsylvania
• Valid Pennsylvania licensure as a Registered Nurse
• Certification by ANCC or other qualifying agency in area of specialty required – this position requires Adult/ Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner certification.
• Minimum one-year experience as a Nurse Practitioner is preferred
