Job summary

Wellpath in Florida is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to provide comprehensive medical services to incarcerated patients under supervision, including exams, chronic care, and infirmary rounds in a secure setting.

You will document visits using SOAP format, follow formulary guidelines, and communicate scheduling changes. The role requires NP licensure in the state, CPR certification, and flexibility to rotate coverage as needed. This is a full-time, day-shift position.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing school and licensed NP in the state.
• Advanced NP training and ability to provide inmate care.
• Experience in medical/surgical and corrections settings preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide medical care to inmates including exams and rounds.
• Maintain progress notes in SOAP format and follow formulary guidelines.
• Respond to emergencies and coordinate non-formulary referrals.
• Support admission, transfer, and specialty referrals per policy.
• Maintain confidentiality and participate in committees as requested.
