Job description

  • Assess, diagnose, plan, and implement medical care for patients in collaboration with a physician
  • Provide direct patient care, patient/family education, and transitions of care
  • Deliver holistic and individualized care to patients in the assigned area
  • Develop, implement, and manage interdisciplinary plans of care incorporating psychological, sociocultural, spiritual, economic, and lifestyle factors
  • Foster collaborative relationships among patients, families/support groups, physicians, and healthcare providers through timely communication
  • Adhere to entity policies, industry standards, best practices, applicable laws, regulations, and codes
  • Engage in continuous growth and development in advanced nursing practice
  • Follow ambulatory care and inpatient standardized procedures, protocols, and policies regulated by the State of California Nurse Practice Act
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • Master's: Nursing
  • NP-California Nurse Practitioner by California Department of Consumer Affairs
  • AANPCB national certification, or ANCC national certification, or AACN national certification, or PNCP national certification, or NCC national certification
  • NP-F - Nurse Practitioner Furnishing
  • RN-California Registered Nurse
  • CSRC-Controlled Substance Registered Certification (required if prescribing narcotics)
  • BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider
  • Certification required based on the department requirements
  • 5 years of recent relevant experience
  • General knowledge and competence in advanced nursing theories, concepts and practices, medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology
  • Working knowledge of the healthcare industry, safety precaution policies, patient care and privacy best practices, and local/state/federal regulations
  • Written and verbal communication skills to explain sensitive information clearly and professionally to diverse audiences
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word and Outlook) and Electronic Health Record
  • Ability to prioritize and delegate assignments and work within standardized policies, procedures, and scientific methods
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, accomplishing multiple tasks in an interrupted environment
  • Ability to identify, evaluate, and resolve standard problems using established options
  • Ability to ensure patient protected health information privacy
  • Ability to build collaborative relationships with peers and healthcare providers
