Job summary

Wellpath in Fresno, CA is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to provide on-site medical services in a corrections facility, including clinics, rounds, and urgent responses.

You will diagnose conditions, prescribe treatment plans, manage chronic care, and deliver Medication Assisted Treatment services within established policies. Documentation and patient confidentiality are essential, with a focus on compassionate, high-quality care for the inmate population.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Advanced degree in an approved Nurse Practitioner program.
• Must have current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner in the state of employment.
• CPR certification.
• Prior medical/surgical and/or emergency/trauma experience; corrections experience preferred.
• Scheduling flexibility to rotate hours as needed.

Responsibilities

• Examine patients, conduct sick calls, chronic care clinics, and respond to health emergencies.
• Diagnose conditions, prescribe and manage treatment plans, and provide ongoing medical and MAT-related care.
• Conduct MAT assessments, inductions, follow-up appointments, and manage medication continuation and titration.
• Order and interpret laboratory tests and drug screens and utilize appropriate in-house and referral resources.
• Document patient encounters, maintain confidentiality, and comply with established policies, procedures, and standards of care.
