AdventHealth Medical Group in Carrollwood, Florida seeks an experienced Advanced Practice Registered Nurse to join our Gastroenterology team. You will provide comprehensive care to adult GI patients in outpatient and hospital settings, working with board-certified gastroenterologists and a multidisciplinary care team.

The ideal candidate holds a Master’s or Doctorate in an accredited NP program, Florida APRN license, BLS and APRN certification, and preferably bilingual English/Spanish.

Qualifications

• Master’s or Doctorate degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
• Current Florida APRN license.
• Current BLS and APRN certification.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred to support the diverse patient population served throughout the Carrollwood and greater Tampa Bay community.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations, including history and physical examinations.
• Diagnose, treat, and manage a wide range of gastrointestinal conditions.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with supervising physicians.
• Order, interpret, and communicate diagnostic test results, including laboratory studies and imaging.
• Assist with coordination of care for colonoscopies, upper endoscopies, and other GI procedures.
• Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, nutrition, and preventive care.
• Collaborate with primary care providers, specialists, nursing staff, and ancillary departments to optimize patient outcomes.
• Document patient encounters accurately and timely within the EMR.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and departmental growth efforts.
• Maintain compliance with organizational, state, and federal regulations.

The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical assessment skills, a passion for patient-centered care, and the ability to manage complex gastrointestinal conditions while supporting procedural and follow-up care.

Essential Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations, including history and physical examinations. Diagnose, treat, and manage a wide range of acute and chronic gastrointestinal conditions. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with supervising physicians. Order, interpret, and communicate diagnostic test results, including laboratory studies and imaging. Manage patients with conditions such as: Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) Liver disease and hepatitis Pancreatic disorders Gastrointestinal bleeding Colorectal conditions Provide pre-procedure and post-procedure evaluations for endoscopic procedures. Assist with coordination of care for colonoscopies, upper endoscopies, and other GI procedures. Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, nutrition, and preventive care. Collaborate with primary care providers, specialists, nursing staff, and ancillary departments to optimize patient outcomes. Document patient encounters accurately and timely within the electronic medical record (EMR). Participate in quality improvement initiatives and departmental growth efforts.
