Job summary

AdventHealth Medical Group is seeking an experienced and compassionate Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) to join our growing Gastroenterology team in Carrollwood, Florida. This role will provide comprehensive care to adult gastroenterology patients in both outpatient and hospital-based settings, collaborating with board-certified gastroenterologists and a multidisciplinary care team.

Qualifications

• Master’s or Doctorate degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
• Current Florida APRN license.
• Current BLS and APRN certification.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred to support the diverse patient population served throughout the Carrollwood and greater Tampa Bay community.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations, including history and physical examinations.
• Diagnose, treat, and manage a wide range of acute and chronic gastrointestinal conditions.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with supervising physicians.
• Order, interpret, and communicate diagnostic test results, including laboratory studies and imaging.
• Manage patients with GERD, IBD, IBS, liver disease, pancreatic disorders, GI bleeding, and colorectal conditions.
• Provide pre-procedure and post-procedure evaluations for endoscopic procedures.
• Assist with coordination of care for colonoscopies, upper endoscopies, and other GI procedures.
• Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, nutrition, and preventive care.
• Collaborate with primary care providers, specialists, nursing staff, and ancillary departments to optimize patient outcomes.
• Document patient encounters accurately and timely within the EMR.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and departmental growth efforts.
• Maintain compliance with organizational, state, and federal regulations.

• Assist with coordination of care for colonoscopies, upper endoscopies, and other GI procedures.
