Job summary

Premise Health is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to provide injury/illness care and preventive health services at our San Antonio Health Center. You will perform exams, order tests, educate patients, and collaborate with physicians and client teams to promote employee health.

Requirements include NCCPA certification, state NP license, DEA license, and 3+ years in ambulatory health settings. BLS/ACLS may be required; occupational health experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Maintains state licenses/certifications to practice.
• Maintains Board of Pharmacy Prescribing License (if applicable).
• Current NCCPA national certification required.
• Federal DEA license (matching each state of practice as applicable).
• State Narcotic/Controlled Substance license if required in your state.
• Current certification with hands-on training in BLS/ACLS as required; may be required based on contract scope.

Responsibilities

• Injury and illness care, physical exams, urgent care for employees sick at work, emergency care and preventive health measures per guidelines and approved agreements.
• Perform fitness-for-duty exams and return-to-work exams.
• Provide medically appropriate care to injured workers using evidence-based guidelines, expedites the return to meaningful work, and collaborates with the TPA and client to quarterback case management.
• Implement and monitor transitional duty programs for injured workers.
• Perform procedures such as injections, suturing, wound care, and infection management.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements related to clinical operations and manages required physical evaluations (OSHA, DOT, ... etc.).
• Develop patient care plans, records progress, and ensures continuity of care.
• Educate patients on treatment plans, health maintenance, growth and development.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests to assess clinical conditions.
• Collaborate with physicians and healthcare teams for comprehensive care.
• Collaborate with the medical director and client stakeholders on Health Promotion programs, surveillance needs, ergonomics, process development, and other related safety/injury prevention opportunities.
• Prescribe or recommends treatments, including medications and therapies.
• Refer patients to specialists or physicians as needed.
• Maintain patient health records to ensure accurate and up-to-date documentation and records.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

As a Full Time Nurse Practitioner, you'll provide care to client employees in our Health Center located in San Antonio, TX. The scheduled hours are Monday- Thursday, 7:00PM-3:30AM. A great option for someone who enjoys having long weekends and extra flexibility during the day!

What You'll Do

What You'll Bring

• Maintains state licenses/certifications to practice.

• Degree from ARC-PA accredited program.
• Federal DEA license (matching each state of practice as applicable).
• State Narcotic/Controlled Substance license if required in your state (Alabama, Connecticut, DC, Delaware, Hawaii, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Nevada, New Jersey, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Utah, Wyoming, Puerto Rico) (New York ROPES registration).
• Current certification with hands-on training in AHA, ARC or equivalent Basic Life Support for health care providers is required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support may also be required based on contract scope of services.
• At least three years of clinical experience as a Physician Assistant in an ambulatory care, occupational health, family practice or emergency department setting.
• Experience working in an occupational health setting is preferred.
• Experience performing site visits and working with safety teams establishing ways to mitigate workplace hazards.
