Job summary

Premise Health Inc. is seeking a Physician Assistant for our Health Center in San Antonio, TX. This full-time role runs Monday through Thursday, 7:00 PM to 3:30 AM, offering long weekends and daytime flexibility.

You will provide injury/illness care, perform exams, and collaborate with physicians and welfare teams to ensure comprehensive care. The ideal candidate has NCCPA certification, an ARC-PA accredited PA program, and at least three years in ambulatory/occupational health settings.

Qualifications

• State licenses/certifications to practice.
• Current NCCPA national certification required.
• ARC-PA accredited PA program degree.
• Federal DEA license (matching state of practice).
• At least three years of clinical PA experience.
• Experience in occupational health preferred.
• Experience performing site visits with safety teams.

Responsibilities

• Injury and illness care, physical exams, urgent care for employees sick at work, emergency care and preventive measures.
• Perform fitness-for-duty and return-to-work exams.
• Collaborate with the TPA and client to quarterback case management.
• Implement and monitor transitional duty programs for injured workers.
• Prescribe or recommend treatments, including medications and therapies.
• Refer patients to specialists or physicians as needed.
• Maintain patient health records and ensure accurate documentation.

As a Full Time Physician Assistant, you'll provide care to client employees in our Health Center located in San Antonio, TX. The scheduled hours are Monday- Thursday, 7:00PM-3:30AM. A great option for someone who enjoys having long weekends and extra flexibility during the day!

What You'll Do

• Injury and illness care, physical exams, urgent care for employees sick at work, emergency care and preventive health measures per guidelines and approved agreements.
• Perform fitness-for-duty exams and return-to-work exams.
• Provide medically appropriate care to injured workers using evidence-based guidelines, expedites the return to meaningful work, and collaborates with the TPA and client to quarterback case management.
• Implement and monitor transitional duty programs for injured workers.
• Perform procedures such as injections, suturing, wound care, and infection management.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements related to clinical operations and manages required physical evaluations (OSHA, DOT, ... etc.).
• Develop patient care plans, records progress, and ensures continuity of care.
• Educate patients on treatment plans, health maintenance, growth and development.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests to assess clinical conditions.
• Collaborate with physicians and healthcare teams for comprehensive care.
• Collaborate with the medical director and client stakeholders on Health Promotion programs, surveillance needs, ergonomics, process development, and other related safety/injury prevention opportunities.
• Prescribe or recommends treatments, including medications and therapies.
• Refer patients to specialists or physicians as needed.
• Maintain patient health records to ensure accurate and up-to-date documentation and records.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

What You'll Bring

• Maintains state licenses/certifications to practice.
• Maintains Board of Pharmacy Prescribing License (if applicable).
• Current NCCPA national certification required.
• Degree from ARC-PA accredited program.
• Federal DEA license (matching each state of practice as applicable).
• Current certification with hands-on training in AHA, ARC or equivalent Basic Life Support for health care providers is required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support may also be required based on contract scope of services.
• At least three years of clinical experience as a Physician Assistant in an ambulatory care, occupational health, family practice or emergency department setting.
• Experience working in an occupational health setting is preferred.
• Experience performing site visits and working with safety teams establishing ways to mitigate workplace hazards.
