Qualifications

  • PMHNP certification from a recognized certifying body.
  • Strong knowledge of psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and evidence-based treatment modalities.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Provide medication management and prescribe psychotropic medications.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team for holistic care.
  • Offer counseling and psychotherapy to individuals, families, and groups.
  • Monitor progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
  • Educate patients and families about mental health and self-care strategies.
  • Maintain accurate medical records including progress notes and medication records.
  • Stay current with advances in psychiatric care and pursue continuing education.
  • Average 28 patient-facing hours weekly after month 3.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Job Duties/Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations to assess patients' mental health status and develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Provide medication management and prescribe appropriate psychotropic medications to address patients' mental health needs.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure holistic care for patients.
  • Offer counseling and psychotherapy services to individuals, families, and groups.
  • Monitor patients' progress, evaluate treatment effectiveness, and make necessary adjustments to treatment plans as needed.
  • Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions, treatment options, and self-care strategies.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, including progress notes, treatment plans, and medication records.
  • Stay current with advancements in psychiatric care and participate in continuing education to enhance clinical knowledge and skills.
  • Average 28 patient-facing hours weekly after month 3 of employment.

Requirements
Job Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must meet the minimum qualifications listed below. These qualifications are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required to perform this job.

  • 3+ years of experience in providing psychiatric care to individuals.
  • Master's degree in Psychiatric-Mental Health Nursing from an accredited program.
  • Current and unrestricted Washington Nurse Practitioner license.
  • Certification as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) from a recognized certifying body.
  • Strong knowledge of psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and evidence-based treatment modalities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in electronic medical record (EMR) systems and other relevant software.
Certificates/Licenses:
  • Successfully pass background check applicable to position.
  • Maintain current Washington State ARNP license.
  • Possess and maintain current DEA registration.
  • Register as an agency affiliated counselor or obtain behavioral health credential through Washington State Department of Health within 60 days of employment, as required by WAC 246-341.
Working Conditions:
  • None: The worker is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions (as in typical office or administrative work).
Physical Requirements:
  • Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
