Qualifications

  • Graduate degree in Nursing with clinical specialization and preparation for advanced practice.
  • Current Missouri APRN license.
  • Current national specialty certification from a recognized organization.
  • Current state APRN recognition/certification as required by the State Board of Nursing.
  • 1–3 years of clinical experience, preferably in critical care, acute care, hospital medicine, or hospital-based setting.
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications.

Responsibilities

Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) – Hospitalist
Columbia, MO | Full-Time Professional
Position Summary

The Nurse Practitioner (APRN) is responsible for providing comprehensive, high-quality care to medically complex and critically ill patients. This role includes assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and documenting patient care in accordance with applicable standards, regulations, and professional practice guidelines.

The APRN must demonstrate the knowledge, clinical judgment, and skills necessary to provide safe, effective, and age-appropriate care to the patient population served.

Key Responsibilities

The APRN will practice at an advanced level and will be responsible for, but not limited to:

  • Providing direct patient care to an assigned population of medically complex and critically ill patients.
  • Performing comprehensive patient assessments and developing individualized treatment plans.
  • Managing patients with complex medical conditions requiring advanced clinical knowledge and skills.
  • Monitoring patient progress and evaluating responses to treatment.
  • Collaborating effectively with physicians, nursing staff, therapists, case management, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team.
  • Ordering, interpreting, and responding to diagnostic studies and laboratory results within the scope of practice.
  • Promoting safe, efficient, effective, and evidence-based patient care.
  • Providing education and support to patients, families, and members of the healthcare team.
  • Contributing to quality improvement, clinical education, consultation, and evidence-based practice initiatives.
  • Maintaining accurate, timely, and complete clinical documentation.
  • Practicing in accordance with applicable state laws, State Board of Nursing requirements, organizational policies, professional standards, and the Collaborative Practice Agreement.
  • Maintaining professional competency and clinical excellence within the scope of practice.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Graduate degree in Nursing with clinical specialization and preparation for advanced practice.
  • Current APRN license in Missouri.
  • Current national specialty certification from an organization recognized by the applicable State Board of Nursing.
