Job summary

Gateway Regional Medical Center in Granite City, IL is seeking a Hospitalist Nurse Practitioner (APRN) for night shifts to deliver inpatient care, collaborate with physicians, and coordinate treatment plans across the care team. Requirements include MSN or DNP, RN/APRN licensure in Illinois, national NP certification, BLS, ACLS, and DEA registration.

You will assess patients, manage acute and chronic conditions, document in the EMR, and advocate for high-quality patient outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from an accredited program.
  • Current Illinois RN and APRN licensure.
  • National Nurse Practitioner certification in an applicable specialty.
  • Current BLS certification (AHA or American Red Cross).
  • ACLS certification (or ability to obtain if required).
  • Current DEA registration and Illinois controlled substance license.

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive patient assessments, medical histories, and physical examinations.
  • Diagnose and manage acute and chronic medical conditions using evidence-based clinical judgment.
  • Order, interpret, and evaluate laboratory studies, diagnostic imaging, and other tests.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans and prescribing medications and therapies in accordance with Illinois law and collaborative practice agreements.
  • Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, and discharge planning.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, therapists, pharmacists, case management, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
  • Maintain accurate, timely documentation within the EMR.
  • Support quality improvement initiatives while ensuring compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.

Schedule: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM | 15 Shifts Per Month | Full-Time

What You'll Do

As a Hospitalist Nurse Practitioner, you'll provide comprehensive inpatient care while working collaboratively with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.

Your Responsibilities Include

What We're Looking For
