Job summary

Decypher is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to provide comprehensive primary and specialty medical care in an onsite setting at Barksdale Air Force Base in Louisiana. Responsibilities include exams, diagnosing and treating conditions, prescribing medications, and promoting preventive care within approved protocols.

Requirements include an approved NP program, current NP certification, active license, U.S. citizenship, and 3 years of recent relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Current national board certification as a Nurse Practitioner.
• Current, Full, Active, and Unrestricted NP license in the applicable state.
• U.S. Citizenship is required.
• 3 years' experience within the last 5 years.

Responsibilities

• Provide a full range of NP services in primary and specialty medical care within training and privileges.
• Diagnose, treat, and counsel patients for acute and chronic conditions and provide immunizations.
• Direct and teach other staff, provide educational lectures and training to staff.
• Promote preventive care and health maintenance through education and counseling.
• Prescribe treatment protocols and medications approved by committees.
• Collaborate with physicians and healthcare teams to ensure referrals and quality care.

Job Summary

The Nurse Practitioner will provide comprehensive primary and specialty medical care, including diagnosing and treating acute and chronic conditions, performing exams, prescribing medications, and promoting preventive health within approved scope and protocols. Collaborates with healthcare teams, educates patients and staff, and ensures appropriate referrals and quality care delivery across a wide range of clinical situations. This is an onsite position in Bossier Parish, Louisiana at Barksdale Air Force Base.

Required Qualifications

• Education: Masters or Doctoral degree in Nursing from an accredited program, with completion of an approved Nurse Practitioner program in the applicable specialty.
• Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Red Cross or American Health Association. Current national board certification as a Nurse Practitioner.
• License: Current, Full, Active, and Unrestricted license to practice as a Nurse Practitioner. Current state APRN/NP license.
• Experience: 3 years' experience within the last 5 years.
• U.S. Citizenship is required.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide a full range of NP services in primary and specialty medical care within the limits of their training and privileges granted by the MTF (e.g., supervise and provide 26 general screening and medical care and examinations of patients for routine, acute and chronic conditions involving any and all organ systems; provide immunizations; diagnose, treat, and counsel patients as indicated).
• Provide care for a variety of diseases and types of injuries (i.e., acute, chronic and minor trauma), and the skills to recognize emergency conditions in order to diagnose, prescribe for and treat diseases, disorders and injuries, and refer the more complex cases and serious conditions to qualified medical personnel and perform designated treatment.
• Direct and teach other staff, provide educational lectures and participate in training to staff members.
• Promote preventive care and health maintenance including annual physicals, positive health behaviors and self-care through both formal and individual education and counseling.
• Prescribe treatment protocols and the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee approved medications and immunizations.
• Identify a medical problem and determine appropriate action to meet the problem, including referral to a physician.
• Perform specific diagnostic and therapeutic practices and procedures in accordance with scope of practice.
• Establish collaborative rapport with physician, nursing, and others in order to promote and facilitate primary care services.
• Teach patients and family member's healthy regimen and responsibility for achieving wellness.
• Attend staff meetings to provide case discussion, continuing education, and continuous quality improvement.

Work Environment & Schedule

Monday - Friday 7:00am - 5:30pm CST; 40 hours per week

Compensation & Benefits

Up to $130,000 annually + Benefits.
