Job summary

Qualifications

• Master’s or Doctoral degree in Nursing from an accredited program and NP specialty training.
• BLS certification from ARC or AHA in good standing.
• Current national board certification as a Nurse Practitioner.
• Active, unrestricted APRN/NP license to practice in the applicable state.
• At least 3 years' NP experience within the last 5 years.

Responsibilities

• Provide full scope NP services in primary and specialty care per training and privileges.
• Diagnose, treat, immunize, and manage routine to complex health conditions.
• Educate patients and staff; coordinate referrals and ensure quality care delivery.
• Promote preventive care and healthy behaviors with patient education.
• Collaborate with physicians and healthcare teams to optimize care.
• Attend meetings, participate in continuing education, and drive quality improvement.

Education

Master’s or Doctoral degree in Nursing

BLS certification (American Red Cross or American Health Association)

Current national NP board certification

Current APRN/NP license

3 years NP experience in last 5 years

Job Summary

Collaborates with healthcare teams, educates patients and staff, and ensures appropriate referrals and quality care delivery across a wide range of clinical situations. This is an onsite position in Bossier Parish, Louisiana at Barksdale Air Force Base.

Required Qualifications

• Education: Master’s or Doctoral degree in Nursing from an accredited program, with completion of an approved Nurse Practitioner program in the applicable specialty.
• Certifications:
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Red Cross or American Health Association.
  • Current national board certification as a Nurse Practitioner.
• License: Current, Full, Active, and Unrestricted license to practice as a Nurse Practitioner. Current state APRN/NP license.
• Experience: 3 years' experience within the last 5 years.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide a full range of NP services in primary and specialty medical care within the limits of their training and privileges granted by the MTF (e.g., supervise and provide 26 general screening and medical care and examinations of patients for routine, acute and chronic conditions involving any and all organ systems; provide immunizations; diagnose, treat, and counsel patients as indicated).
• Provide care for a variety of diseases and types of injuries (i.e., acute, chronic and minor trauma), and the skills to recognize emergency conditions in order to diagnose, prescribe for and treat diseases, disorders and injuries, and refer the more complex cases and serious conditions to qualified medical personnel and perform designated treatment.
• Direct and teach other staff, provide educational lectures and participate in training to
• staff members.
• Promote preventive care and health maintenance including annual physicals, positive health behaviors and self-care through both formal and individual education and counseling.
• Prescribe treatment protocols and the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee approved medications and immunizations.
• Identify a medical problem and determine appropriate action to meet the problem, including
• referral to a physician.
• Perform specific diagnostic and therapeutic practices and procedures in accordance with scope of practice.
• Establish collaborative rapport with physician, nursing, and others in order to promote and
• facilitate primary care services.
• Teach patients and family member's healthy regimen and responsibility for achieving wellness.
• Attend staff meetings to provide case discussion, continuing education, and continuous quality
• improvement.

Work Environment & Schedule

Monday - Friday 7:00am - 5:30pm CST; 40 hours per week

Compensation & Benefits

Up to $130,000 annually + Benefits.
