Job summary

ERP International, LLC is seeking a Nurse Practitioner for a full-time position supporting the Warrior Operational Medicine Clinic (WOMC) at Barksdale AFB, LA.

The FNP will serve as an independent primary care provider within a deployable medical team, delivering preventive services, immunizations, and care for routine, acute, and chronic conditions. Competitive benefits and CME support are offered.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in nursing required from ACEN/CCNE accredited program or equivalent.
  • NP certification by ANCC/AANP or equivalent national certifying body.
  • Minimum 1 year NP experience within the past 3 years preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide full-range, outcome-based NP services per privileges granted by the MTF.
  • Technically direct and teach other staff; deliver education lectures and in-service training.
  • Diagnose and treat common acute conditions, chronic illnesses, or minor trauma.
  • Promote preventive care and health maintenance through education and counseling.
  • Communicate with a diverse group to inform plans/actions and educate patients and families.
  • Attend staff meetings for case discussions, CQI, and safety improvements.

Responsibilities

Work Schedule:Monday - Friday, 9 hours between 7:00am and 4:30pm, including a one hour lunch, Monday-Friday

Core Duties: The Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) works as an independent health care provider of a primary care team. The practitioner is self-directed and has a high level of independence. As a member of the Warrior Operational Medicine Clinic (WOMC), coordinates patient care through a continuum facilitating the achievement of optimal outcomes in clinical, quality and cost-effectiveness arenas. Provides direct clinical care to patients requiring the intervention of a mid-level provider and providing patient education and medication guidance as needed to patients. Uses population health guidelines to ensure patients receive appropriate clinical preventive services. Supervise and provide general screening and medical care and examinations of patients for routine, acute and chronic conditions involving any and all organ systems; provide immunizations; diagnose, treat, and counsel patients as indicated. Evaluates and responds to telephone consultations/MHS Genesis In-Between encounters from patients and other staff members. Provides risk factor counseling and preventive services. Performs pre-deployment and post-deployment of assessments of active-duty personnel. Recognizes scope of practice limitations; consults with a physician and/or medical specialty services as needed; and refers patients to Disease Management, Case Management, Health and Wellness Center (HAWC), or other services as required. Uses and develops protocols in conjunction with existing clinical guidelines. Develops tools, monitors metrics to evaluate and continuously improve the effectiveness of programs and the health of the defined population. Knows scope of practice for support staff and offers opportunities for their personal and professional development. Guides support staff in gaining breadth and depth of experience in order to enhance delivery of patient care.

  • Provide a full range of outcome-based nurse practitioner services in accordance with privileges granted by the MTF (e.g., supervise and provide general screening and medical care and examinations of patients for routine, acute and chronic conditions involving any and all organ systems; provide immunizations; diagnose, treat, and counsel patients as indicated).
  • Technically direct and teach other staff, provide evidenced-based educational lectures and participate in in-service training to staff members.
  • Diagnose and treat patients with common acute conditions, chronic illnesses, or minor trauma within accepted protocols, clinical practice guidelines, Nurse Practice Acts, and/or in consultation with a physician.
  • Promote preventive care and health maintenance including annual physicals, positive health behaviors and self-care through both formal and individual education and counseling.
  • Communicate and collaborate with a diverse group of people for the purpose of informing the healthcare team of plans/actions, for teaching/education to benefit the patient/family and organization.
  • Recognize conditions that require isolation and ensure universal precautions are used in all patient encounters.
  • Attend staff meetings to provide case discussion, continuing education, and continuous quality improvement and safety.
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Degree: Master's degree in nursing.
  • Education: Graduate from an academic program in the nursing specialty accredited by a recognized nursing accrediting agency (ACEN or CCNE).
  • Certification: Certified as a Nurse Practitioner by ANCC, AANP, or appropriate national certification organization.
  • Experience: Minumum of 1 years NP experience within past three years. Basic understanding of utilization management, data/cost analysis concepts, and medical informatics are preferred.
  • Licensure: Current, full, active, and unrestricted Registered Nurse license.
  • Life Support Certification: Possess current ARC or AHA BLS Healthcare Provider certification.
  • Security: Must possess ability to pass a Government background check/security clearance.
