Job summary

MedStar Health Nurse Navigator coordinates patient care across the continuum under a provider's plan of care, guided by national guidelines and nursing scope. The navigator educates patients, supports treatment understanding, and promotes evidence-based, culturally competent care.

This role collaborates with the health care team to improve patient outcomes and experiences, participates in quality initiatives and tumor boards, and helps connect patients with needed resources.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) required.
• Master's degree in Nursing preferred.
• 3–4 years of progressively responsible clinical nursing experience.
• RN licensure in MD/DC required (or as applicable).
• CPR certification within 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate patient care across the continuum under a provider's plan of care.
• Provide patient and family education about treatment plans and care processes.
• Collaborate with the health care team to monitor outcomes and improve patient experiences.
• Participate in quality improvement activities, tumor boards, and cancer education programs.
