Job summary

Mercy Fort Smith, AR is seeking a Nurse Navigator, a nursing specialist who follows patients across the continuum of care. The Navigator coordinates with an advanced level of clinical expertise and collaborates with Mercy’s patients, families, physicians, and the care team to manage treatment and care and help ensure seamless transitions across settings.

The role requires RN licensure, a BSN preferred, 2 years of related experience, and BLS within 30 days of hire.

• 2 years related experience
• BLS (Basic Life Support) required within 30 days of hire

The Navigator coordinates with an advanced level of clinical expertise, all aspects of treatment and care for, and in collaboration with, Mercy’s patients, their family and significant others, physicians, interdisciplinary team, and other support staff.

Minimum Qualifications

• Education: Graduate from an approved school of nursing
• Experience: 2 years related experience
• Licensure: RN (Registered nurse) licensed in state of practice
• Certification(s): BLS (Basic Life Support) is required within 30 days of hire is required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor of Science Nursing
• Experience: 3 years in an oncology setting is preferred.
• Formal patient education and community educational presentations
• Support group facilitation
• Certification(s): Certification in Oncology Nursing or Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Certification

Physical Requirements

• Position requires individuals to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis.
• Position requires prolonged standing and walking each shift.
• Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
