Job summary

Baptist Health Jacksonville seeks an experienced Assistant Nurse Manager for the Surgical Oncology Progressive Care Unit (PCU) to lead a fast-paced team of nurses and patient care staff.

This full-time night shift leadership role partners with the Nurse Manager to drive daily operations, mentor staff, ensure the delivery of safe, patient-centered care, and coordinate admissions, transfers, and post-surgical care across the unit.

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• BLS Certification through the American Heart Association.
• ACLS Certification through the American Heart Association.
• Experience in Medical-Surgical nursing, post-surgical nursing, and progressive acute care.
• Leadership roles such as Charge Nurse or Assistant Nurse Manager.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily unit operations and clinical leadership.
• Lead, coach, and support Registered Nurses and patient care staff.
• Promote safe, high-quality, evidence-based patient care for adult medical and surgical patients.
• Coordinate admissions, transfers, discharges, staffing, and patient throughput.
• Serve as a clinical resource for complex patient care and interdisciplinary collaboration.
• Drive quality improvement initiatives and operational excellence.
• Provide direct patient care as needed while maintaining a positive and collaborative work environment.
