General Summary
Under general administrative direction, the Nurse Manager is accountable for delivering patient care services aligned with the organization’s strategic plan, achieving clinical, financial, and service quality objectives within our Pediatric Emergency Department and Pediatric and Adolescent Wellness Space. Our Pediatric ED serves children from birth through 21 years of age, staffed by a dedicated team passionate about pediatric care. We provide a wide range of pediatric services and specialty care, serving both the local community and regional patients. As the only site within UMMS offering pediatric intermediate, intensive, and specialty care, our ED manages over 16,000 patients annually. The manager is responsible for ensuring the quality of clinical services, staff competency, and performance, as well as designing systems to support multidisciplinary teamwork and continuity with the Children’s Hospital and Pediatric service line. The role also involves participation in organizational project teams and work groups.
