General Summary
Under general administrative direction, the Nurse Manager is accountable for delivering patient care services aligned with the organization's strategic plan, achieving clinical, financial, and service quality objectives within the Pediatric Emergency Department / Pediatric and Adolescent Wellness Space. Our Pediatric ED serves children from birth through 21 years of age, staffed by a passionate team dedicated to pediatric and youth care. We offer comprehensive services and pediatric specialty care, serving the emergency needs of pediatric patients in both the local community and the region. As the only site for pediatric intermediate, intensive, and specialty care within UMMS, our pediatric emergency department handles over 16,000 patients annually.
The Peds ED Manager is responsible for ensuring the quality of clinical services, overseeing nursing staff competency and performance, and designing systems to support multidisciplinary team functioning and service continuity with the Children's Hospital / Pediatric service line. The role involves active participation in organizational projects and work groups.
