General Summary
Under general administrative direction, the manager is accountable for delivering patient care services aligned with the organization’s strategic plan, achieving clinical, financial, and service quality objectives within our Pediatric Emergency Department and Pediatric and Adolescent Wellness Space. Our Pediatric ED serves children from birth to 21 years old, staffed by a team passionate about pediatric and youth care. We offer a broad range of services and pediatric specialty care, serving emergency needs of pediatric patients in the local community and region. As the only site within UMMS for pediatric intermediate, intensive, and specialty care, our pediatric emergency department cares for over 16,000 patients annually. The Peds ED manager oversees the quality of clinical services, staff competency and performance, and develops systems to support multidisciplinary team functioning and continuity of services with the Children's Hospital/Pediatric service line. The manager also participates in organizational project teams and work groups.
