Job summary

Copper Springs Avondale, part of Lifepoint Health, is seeking a Nurse Manager RN for Behavioral Health to lead a dynamically expanding team in Avondale, AZ. You will oversee nursing operations, staff development, and patient care coordination in a behavioral health setting.

The ideal candidate holds an RN license (AZ or compact), a BSN or ADN with BSN enrollment, and has 3+ years of medical‑surgical nursing with at least 2 years in supervisory roles. BLS certification is required.

• Current state RN license (AZ or compact multi-state)
• BSN or ADN with current enrollment in a BSN program
• AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Three years in medical–surgical nursing and minimum two years supervisory experience

Responsibilities

• Develop departmental goals, standards, and objectives aligned with the organization’s vision.
• Manage staff relations, scheduling, payroll, recruitment, and staff development.
• Monitor budgets, contracts, and vendor relations; justify needs for equipment and supplies.
• Coordinate patient care with physicians and other departments; provide patient care when necessary.
• Create an environment that supports professional growth and evidence-based practice integration.

How you'll contribute

A Behavioral Health Nurse Manager RN who excels in this role:

• Assists with developing specific departmental goals, standards, and objectives which directly support the strategic plan and vision of the organization.
• Manages staff relations including performance management, staff satisfaction, and conflict management. Performs and oversees scheduling, staff development, recruitment, payroll, and student engagements.
• Monitors departmental budgets, regulatory compliance, departmental contracts, and vendor relations. Determines and justifies needs for systems/equipment/supplies purchases, monitors usage, and oversees proper working order and/or stock supplies.
• Assesses the quality of patient care delivered and coordinates patient care services with patients, staff, physicians, and other departments. May provide patient care when necessary.
• Creates and fosters an environment that encourages professional growth.
• Integrates evidence‑based practices into operations and clinical protocols.

What we're looking for

Applicants should have a current state RN license and possess a bachelor’s degree from an accredited nursing school or an associate’s degree with current enrollment in a bachelor’s program for nursing. Additional requirements include:

• Certifications: AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
• Experience: Three years of experience in all aspects of medical surgical nursing and a minimum of two years supervisory experience.
• Licenses: Must have a current Arizona or compact multi‑state RN license.
• Education: BSN or ADN with current enrollment in a BSN program required.
