The University of Iowa Health Care, Department of Nursing is seeking a Nurse Manager to provide leadership and management of the Nursing team in delivering safe, quality, family-centered patient care in collaboration with interdisciplinary teams.

Position focuses on planning, organizing, directing, evaluating and improving operations and education programs within the Perioperative General Surgery, Plastics, Burn unit. 40 hours/week, days; main location at University Hospital in Iowa City.

Formación

• Master’s Degree in Nursing required; if in a related field, a Nursing BSN with plan to obtain advanced degree
• 3+ years of leadership/management experience
• 2+ years of perioperative/surgery experience
• Experience with HR, financial management, quality and patient satisfaction initiatives
• Certification in a nursing specialty or eligibility to sit for exam soon
• Proficient in computer software applications (EHR, MS Office)
• Ability to lead diverse teams and collaborate with physicians and staff

Responsabilidades

• Hire, develop and manage staff performance in the unit
• Prepare and monitor budgets; analyze financial data
• Identify QA priorities and implement quality standards
• Assess needs and forecast trends to improve patient care
• Develop action plans aligned with strategic goals; report progress
• Advocate for unit needs with leaders; support program development
• Provide clinical education to staff; oversee education agreements
• Apply management principles to improve operations and efficiency
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and Joint Commission standards
• Drive staff engagement and patient satisfaction initiatives
